Why Fall is Fraxel Season

Updated: Dec 13, 2022

Want to look younger without downtime or injections? Fraxel laser treatment(s) are the highest quality option, and NOW is the time to start planning.

IN THIS BLOG: We'll explain why this September is the best time to begin your laser skin resurfacing regimen, what Fraxel is, who it's for, how it works, and what to expect. 😍

Fraxel (fractional skin resurfacing) is an FDA-cleared laser device used to treat:

• fine lines,

• wrinkles,

• scarring,

• sun damage, and

• actinic keratosis (AK) on the whole face, décolletage, hands, and arms.

We love this minimally-invasive laser treatment!

While ablative laser treatments remove the thin outer layers of skin creating a superficial wound, this non-ablative laser treatment (Fraxel skin resurfacing) keeps the outer layer of skin intact but still stimulates collagen growth to reveal a youthful, glowing appearance 🥰 and smaller pores.

100% of patients saw textural improvements.

Just about all skin types can be safely treated, but one must refuse to stay out of the sun pre- and post-treatment.

This is why Frax is one of our top picks for fall 🍂 & winter ❄️ skin treatment plans.

The Fraxel laser treatment may not be for everyone—it’s uncomfortable, has a higher price point and there’s more of an ‘ask’ when it comes to decreased sun exposure. However, with a disciplined skin routine, the results from your treatment(s) can last for years!

Our Nordlys by Candela Frax 1550 nm laser rejuvenates skin by delivering very small, very controlled bursts of heat energy only to the area being treated.

The laser causes micro-injuries in the skin and the healing process stimulates new collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, which makes your skin tighter, plumper, and more elastic.

After about four weeks, the treatment brings new skin to the surface, effectively replacing damaged, discolored skin.

Before your treatment, we’ll apply a topical numbing cream to the area we’re treating. The SoftCool™ skin cooler helps reduce treatment discomfort as well.

The treatment takes a short time, (generally, the treatment procedure itself takes from 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the area). The surface of the skin is left intact, and healing and recovery is quick.

The pain may be intense (even with the numbing cream) but short lived. 💋 After this wears off, you will feel as if you have a light sunburn from anywhere between a few hours to a few days, depending on the sensitivity of your skin.

  1. Prior to your Frax 1550 procedure, you’ll need to schedule a consultation to discuss your treatment goals.

  2. Typically, we recommend a course of three treatments, but this varies.

  3. Preprogrammed settings for different skin types ensure a correct energy output for your complexion. ✨ It is important to avoid tanning salons and self- tanning products before and during the treatment period, and it is recommended to reduce sun exposure during this time and for 30 days after treatment.

  4. You will get maximum results if you use a normal moisturizing cream before and after treatment. 💦

  5. After treatment, you should avoid sun exposure for 30 days or use sun protection (minimum SPF 30) if sun exposure cannot be avoided. And be sure to let us know if you are prone to acne breakouts or cold sores.

Treatment costs less than $700. After a consultation, we’ll suggest the number of treatments you’ll need to create the results you’re looking for.

We take into account the treatments you’ve already had, the amount of damage you currently have, your skin tone, and exactly the results you’re looking for. 🖤

This month (September 2021) we’re offering $250 off your frax skin resurfacing treatment! Take advantage of this special and reveal your ‘inner’ beauty this winter: click here to schedule a consultation.

See you Soon! 😍
