Your Complete Guide to Injectables

Learn from our cosmetic nurse injector Rebecca Heffter in this short video blog all about injectables.

If you are concerned about the lines between your eyes here, (a lot of people call those the 11s), Botox will take care of that for you.

Forehead lines, Botox is great for that.

People love a little Botox around their eye for their crow’s feet.

Please come in for filler in their lips and their cheeks, jawline, lowercase face, the nasal labial folds and the marionettes and chin filler as well.

I’m Rebecca Heffter and I’m a cosmetic nurse injector here at Beauty at the Lake.

Here at  Beauty at the Lake I offer all sorts of injectables such as Botox, fillers, PRP.

So, Botox Is a Nuro modulator, so Botox is going to relax the muscles that cause wrinkles.

There’s different fillers for different areas of the face. Right now, I exclusively carry the Juvéderm Line of fillers, composed of hyaluronic acid, which when injected under the skin it draws water to it and that helps to smooth out lines and wrinkles.

Some fillers are for smoothing while others are for lifting and others are for plumping.

So, we use different kinds of fillers in different areas of the face depending on what your need is.

If you’re just starting say when you’re 80 years old and you’ve never had any sort of injectables done before, there is a point when (you know) I’ll just tell someone that (you know) those lines are etched in there and there’s really not much Botox can do for those lines.

I have treated girls as young as 18 for Botox, and it’s a preventative thing for them. They understand that they don’t have (you know) have those dynamic wrinkles yet but they come in to prevent from ever getting those wrinkles and so it’s more of a preventative thing for the younger group of girls and guys that come in for that.

I would say (you know) for face filler, I would say once you hit about 30 years old things start falling 30, 35 is a pretty average age to start for filler in your cheeks. I have done girls as young as 20 for lip filler.

When you come in for your appointment with me, you can expect a first fill out a consent form and then I always do a consult just prior to the procedure. It takes about 10 or 15 minutes. I have you hold a mirror and kind of point out the things that concern you and then we develop a care plan for your face together and I kind of go over the options and (you know) we can do to help you with your goals and then I’ll put numbing cream on. I usually like to numb for about 15 to 20 minutes and then usually the procedure takes less than that.

So, recovery from Botox is really fast. You leave here maybe with a couple little pinpoint (you know) marks on your forehead. Those go away within about 20 minutes; but, it takes about roughly 4 to 5 days for Botox to start kicking.

I give you a list of things not to do after the procedure. The main things are no massaging, no micro needling for a couple weeks and also I tell people not to exercise excessively for 48 hours because it takes 48 hours for that denervation to happen.

For filler ... that’s when you’ll have some swelling, especially in the lips, and so I send you home with an ice pack and a home care package to help take care of the swelling in the pain. You can take ibuprofen. Benadryl helps with the swelling as well.

But I go over everything with you and post care instructions before you leave and I’m always available if you have any questions after any of your procedures

You can schedule one of three ways. You could either call the office here at Beauty at the Lake or you can get on our website at and you can schedule that way, or you can you can call or text my cell phone 2086912754
